Enzo’s Pinball is a brand new game for Android. Brought to us by Haptify this pinball game is unlike any of the others I’ve tried. I used to love pinball back in the day and nothing on android comes close. The bumpers don’t feel realistic, and it just isn’t quite like the good times, old school pinball machines in the arcades. Haptify has changed all that with Enzo’s Pinball.

Available in the Android Market right now for $1.49 this game features full tactile response and feedback. When the ball hits walls, pumpers, or the arms you get a very realistic vibration, full tactile feedback. This is the first pinball game to feature anything like this and they have done an extremely good job. I hope more games and apps start to do the same.

Not only does this game have amazingly great gameplay, the graphics and visuals are top notch also, and we can’t forget the lifelike physics. My favorite feature is accelerometer support so I can “tilt” the table like the old school pinball games all had.

Features:
* 3 Tables to choose from currently: Clockwork, Steam-powered and DJ
* Realistic pinball physics brought to life through high-quality haptic feedback, graphics and sound
* Immersive touch-screen controls and accelerometer support that lets players ‘tilt’ the table, just like in the arcades
* OpenFeint integration with global high score list and achievements

I can’t wait to see what else Haptify has to offer in the future, as they plan to build games and apps all with haptic feedback being a large part of the game. This one hits the mark that is for sure. A must buy for any pinball fan or purist as it feels as real as it did back in the old neighborhood arcade.

First Virtual Pinball Game with Full Tactile Feedback Now Available on Android Marketplace

SAN JOSE, Calif. – April 6, 2011 – Haptify, a developer and publisher of haptic-powered mobile apps, today announced that its first title, Enzo’s Pinball, is now available on the Android Marketplace for $1.49. The first virtual pinball title ever to include full-fledged tactile feedback, Enzo’s Pinball lets players literally feel the action on three unique tables as they flip their ball onto each ramp, bumper, and target. Play the most realistic pinball experience available for mobile devices and compete against players from around the world for the top score through the OpenFeint platform.

Enzo’s Pinball features include:

Three unique pinball tables to master with more coming soon, each with a variety of missions to undertake

Clockwork Table: avoid getting wound up by an intricate clockwork mechanism dating back to the 18th century and learn the secret of the clockwork pinball

Steam-Powered Table: stay cool under pressure and navigate a high-voltage playing field to unlock the true nature of the steampunk pinball

DJ Table: listen to the dark secrets of the record pinball

Realistic pinball physics brought to life through high-quality haptic feedback, graphics, and sound

Immersive touch-screen controls and accelerometer support that lets players ‘tilt’ the table, just like in the arcades

OpenFeint integration with global high score list and achievements

“Enzo’s Pinball is an ideal choice for our first title because it really showcases the subtle-yet-significant power of haptics in gaming,” said Craig Vachon, Haptify Lead. “When you play pinball in real life, you use a combination of sight, sound, and touch to interact with the machine. Cutting that down to two senses, as most pinball titles do by necessity, just doesn’t provide the same level of involvement. I am positive that players won’t look at other pinball titles the same way after they’ve experienced Enzo’s Pinball with haptics.”

Subsidiary created to innovate and promote new mobile applications with touch feedback

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 30, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced the formation of Haptify, Inc. (“Haptify”) an independent subsidiary created to develop, drive adoption, promote and increase visibility of mobile applications with integrated haptics. The studio will be developing a number of immersive and entertaining haptic-enabled apps and games for the Android OS, in addition to offering publisher services to developers interested in technical and marketing support for haptic-enabled games. The studio’s first game featuring haptic technology, Enzo’s Pinball, is expected to be available on the Android Market in April of 2011.

The sense of touch, the only sense capable of simultaneous input and output, is fundamental to interaction with the world. Haptic technology provides app developers, and manufacturers and designers of smartphones and tablets the opportunity to enliven virtual interfaces, such as touch screens and gyro-based controls, with natural, realistic, and intuitive user experiences enhanced with touch feedback. Immersion’s recently-launched MOTIV™ Development Platform provides the tools for developers to implement haptic effects into mobile applications; Haptify will focus on developing haptic-enabled apps and games for the Android Market and will serve as a distribution and promotion channel for other developers who integrate haptics into applications.

Designed to operate as an autonomous startup, Haptify is led by a core team of entrepreneurial industry veterans. Haptify comes to market with strong technical, product and marketing expertise in the mobile and touch technology markets, led by Immersion’s chief commercial officer, Craig Vachon. “We have a great opportunity with Haptify because we believe we’re just at the beginning of haptified games and applications on mobile devices, despite the fact that haptic technology is widely available in over 200 million smartphones and tablets today,” explains Vachon. “We plan to use our team’s extensive experience to evangelize haptics by creating innovative applications and games, and by working closely with other developers to integrate haptics into their applications and to monetize them through Haptify’s marketing and publishing channels.”

“We see Haptify as an exciting opportunity for a team of experts to harness the MOTIV tools to drive new applications to the market, increase the adoption of haptics by the development community and grow the overall haptic development ecosystem,” explains Dennis Sheehan, vice president of marketing for Immersion.
